How to Clean and Maintain Your Doll
TL;DR
Clean after every use. Use warm water + antibacterial soap. Dry thoroughly — moisture is the enemy. Powder TPE dolls with cornstarch or talc after drying. Store in a cool, dark place. Never use oil-based or silicone-based lubricants.
What You Will Need
- Warm water
- Antibacterial soap (mild, unscented)
- Soft sponge or microfiber cloth
- Vaginal irrigator (usually included with doll)
- Soft towel
- Talcum powder or cornstarch (for TPE)
- Drying rod or fan (optional but recommended)
How Often to Clean
- After every use: Mouth, vagina, and anus must be cleaned immediately.
- Every 2 weeks: Full body wash, even if unused.
- Monthly minimum: If in storage, dust off and inspect for damage.
Cleaning the Body
- Remove the head and wig if possible. Lay the doll on a soft towel.
- Mix warm water with a small amount of antibacterial soap. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners.
- Gently wipe the skin with a soft sponge or cloth. Pay attention to creases (armpits, groin, behind knees).
- Avoid soaking the neck and head. Metal skeleton parts can rust if water gets inside.
- Pat dry with a soft towel. Do not rub aggressively.
- Air dry completely before applying powder or storing.
Cleaning the Orifices
This is the most important step. Bacteria grow fast in warm, moist environments.
- Fill the vaginal irrigator with soapy warm water.
- Squirt into the vagina, anus, and mouth until flushed clean.
- Rinse with clean water until all soap residue is gone.
- Dry thoroughly. Use a drying rod, fan, or soft absorbent cloth. Moisture left inside will cause mold and odor.
If you have a detachable vagina, remove it and clean it separately. This is much easier and faster.
Cleaning the Face
- Remove the head from the body.
- Remove the wig if possible.
- Gently pat the face with a sponge soaked in warm soapy water.
- Do not get the eyes or eyelashes wet.
- Pat dry with a soft cloth and let air dry before reattaching.
Drying: The Step Most People Rush
Incomplete drying is the #1 cause of mold, odor, and material damage. After patting with a towel:
- Leave the doll in a well-ventilated room
- Use a fan or drying rod for internal channels
- Wait until completely dry before applying powder or dressing
Do Not Use a Hair Dryer
High heat can damage both TPE and silicone. If you must speed up drying, use a fan on cool setting only.
TPE Skin Care
TPE has a naturally tacky surface that attracts dust. After every full clean and dry:
- Apply a thin layer of talcum powder or cornstarch all over the body
- Use a soft makeup brush or cloth to spread evenly
- This restores the smooth, skin-like feel and prevents sticking
Reapply powder every 2 weeks even if you have not cleaned the doll.
Silicone Care
Silicone is lower maintenance but not zero maintenance:
- Clean with soap and water as above
- Dry thoroughly
- No powder needed — silicone does not get tacky like TPE
- Avoid prolonged contact with dark fabrics
Clothing Tips
- Wash all new clothes before dressing the doll
- Light-colored fabrics only for TPE dolls — dark dyes stain within hours
- Remove tight clothing during storage to prevent permanent indentations
- Avoid items with zippers, buttons, or rough seams that can scratch the skin
Skeleton and Joint Care
- Move joints gently — never force them past their natural range
- Avoid leaving the doll in extreme poses for long periods
- If you hear creaking, a tiny drop of light machine oil on the joint can help
Bottom Line
Cleaning is not optional — it protects your investment and your health. The routine takes 15–30 minutes after use. Build it into your habit, and your doll will last years.
